I am interested in utilizing the subgrid approach for modeling microtopography effects on overland flow. The two most recent publications I am aware of that used this approach used older versions of ATS (Painter et al. 2023 and Khattak & Hamm 2024). Is this approach still possible in ATS 1.6?

I am at the conceptualization stage, thinking about applying this approach to a hillslope (likely 2D though potentially 3D) of low slope (2%) and potentially steeper, any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Devon,

Yes, it is available in v1.6. Here is an example:
but this example uses the multiscale feature (multi parallel column model) of ATS. You can use it to understand Ahmad's paper and how the subgrid is applied in ATS. I should have a 3D subgrid example (not the multiscale one like the above link), which works with v1.5 (not exactly v1.5, but a branch based on v1.5 with some modifications not on subgrid, so it doesn't matter). I can send it to you later.

Best,
Bo
