sorry for my silence during the last weeks - i had exams. During the
next weeks i will focus on developing for Atomique again and have
several ideas.
Thanks to Antonio, Till, and Marianne for your introductions.
@Antonio: i have looked at the Atom publishing protocol before - in
fact i once listened to a lecture on it given by Tim Bray - and you
are right it is truly interesting and worth looking into it in more
detail. Do you know of any applications supporting photo upload using
AtomPub? Apart from this we can also consider AtomPub as a means to
interact between several photo repositories.. even though i think
Trackback is good enough for now. But then we have the question of
spam, too. In terms of OpenID: it would be great to support it. Maybe
first in the comments and later in more profound ways for interaction
among several photo repositories. This may also help combat spam..
@Till: you are right, we should stabilize the protocols and overall
software quality, so it can be used soon. Atomique uses right now
Trackback, but not in the intended way (you first have to become a
group member to send photos..). I think we should come up with a
protocol that would easily integrate with other clients of
decentralized social software. Maybe AtomPub and OpenID could be
suitable for this endeavor.
@Marianne: hosting Atomique somewhere sometime surely is a great idea
for those people not interested in installing their own photo
repository. But i think we are not there yet. In terms of i18n: yes,
you are right. Also modification in terms of templates and even
plugins is not really taken care of yet. I have to think how we can
do it best.
I will work more on Atomique during the next several weeks especially
on this:
- stabilize protocol, include conventional trackback
- include geospatial aspects
If you want to pitch in and have questions dont hesitate to write to
the list. I will keep an updated list of next tasks in the wiki:

Marian

No, I'm missing that.

Why?
Cheers.
