In this situation you could try emailing customer support at infos...@magix.net to ask if they can give youa download link to whichever version you had previously. But you really ought to consider upgrading to the most recent version, except I see from the product page that it is now "sold out"! And my understanding is that it is not going to be replaced.

I think that ultimately you may need to consider buying "new" software. If you tell us what your usage of the product entails we may well be able to advise which current product is most suitable for you.

Jeff, I have managed to get the trail version of the software to work and saved some VHS video files with the mxv extension, I now need a product from MAGIX that will allow me to edit and export my converted VHS files , mpeg ?

David, I don't have the Video Easy software installed but the manual describes exporting the MXV to MP4, accessed through the "Finish Movie" button. The trial may be limited to a reduced video length.

You can also individually edit (trim) your video objects/clips. I suggest you have a browse through the Help or the PDF manual. As I cannot work out how to get it off the Magix website, here is the VideoEasy 7 manual on Google Drive:

-It seems that Video Easy does not have Timeline editing mode, only Storyboard mode. If you intend to do a fair amount of this stuff, Timeline mode is far easier and productive for fine editing. You'll need to get Magix Movie Studio for that. In my view, having used Magix for many years, and having had a dabble at Video Pro X, you don't need it. Movie Studio will do the job nicely and will work with your VideoEasy dongle. If you do decided to buy, get Premium or Suite. The basic version is missing some features.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

Any USB video capture device that has the correct drivers installed, from either Windows or the manufacturer, in both 32 and 64 bit forms, is and recognised, then they should be usable by Movie Studio, Video Easy etc.

MMS can be installed on as many computers as you wish but can be activated on a maximum of 2 at any one time. It is possible to transfer activations "relatively" easily though there are limitations to the number of times per month this can be done.

However, in your case, you mention iMac; all Magix video editing software is Windows only so you would need something like Bootcamp and a Windows partition on your iMac in order to be able to run the program on that machine.

If you are capturing a lot of VHS tapes, and you are not satisified with the noise levels I would recommend getting Neat Video denoiser - paid for, several users in the forum, including myself, use this plug-in.

David, I don't have a Magix grabber, but can confirm that direct-to-MPEG works OK in MMS 2023 with my third-party grabber, so probably the driver for the Magix grabber is creating the issues with the "quality" settings.

I do not agree with him on the resolution; I have upscaled VHS captures to 1920x1440 with no degradation; in my opinion it is as good, if not better than leaving the files as 720x576 (for PAL). I use 1920x1440 to force Youtube to encode using the better VP9 codec but limit my normal upscaling to 1440x1080. That said, (my) LG TV upscales very well; the main factor in quality is bitrate.

After installing "MAGIX Video easy Rescue Your Videotapes!" via a physical DVD in a box (marked MAGIX Rescue Your Videotapes!) as purchased from Magix Software's website, I am having trouble with getting the drivers to install for the included K0065 video capture device, and no device is listed in the programme after selecting "Import video from analogue source".

I have Windows 10 64-bit installed, and the above programme installed to the 64-bit program directory. Following installation, the drivers were installed (and I held off connecting the K0065 until prompted by the installer), but the drivers do not seem to be installed fully.

After looking over this forum, this seems to have popped up now and then with reference to the wrong bit type of driver being installed, but without any conclusion. A screenshot of my Device Manager is here, along with the error I get if I try to use "Update Driver" and point Windows into the \addon\Driver folder on the DVD (the same error shows when selecting either the x86 folder or the x64 one.)

Oh sorry -- I was referring to his situation. I bought my unit from old stock, so I'm thinking of returning it. I have a red-and-white unit with the blue LED in the middle of a dark button that appears to do nothing.

Once these were switched on, and with a fresh install...success! It seems that Microsoft Windows 10 counts the Video input device as a Microphone and Camera, so if the above settings are switched off, it blocks any access to the device.

Need help. Same issue here with K0065 (black stick). Just received from mail. I have installed according to Magix instructions but the driver was not working (Code 28). I have tried to uninstall and then reinstalled the whole software without any result. I have also tried to uninstalled only the video grabber driver and reinstall the 64 bit driver from the CD but no luck. On the Windows 10 Privacy policy for Microphone and Camera were both options on "Allow" but the software "MAGIX Video easy Rescue Your Videotapes!" app was not listed for the allowed apps to use the Microphone and Camera. Please see the attached.

Hi John. Tks for reply. I had the Privacy settings set (same as in the Instructions) long before installing RYVT. While uninstalling and reinstalling the software I was using the CCleaner to clean the Win Registry. I do not have Revo.

I am struggling with the same problem(s).
The error I get 'A problem was encountered while attempting to add the driver to the store'. It could be that the device driver is not signed, and the Internet suggests 'BCDEDIT /set nointegritychecks ON' on a administrator CMD window, but my PC now (W10 update 1903) says it has a secure start-up strategy and this cannot be changed. Any suggestions?

When I start from scratch and plug in the dongle, two 'new' devices appear in the device manager. One pilot installs as 'Magic Video Converter 3'. The other driver does not install. Windows signals an error 'the driver cannot be added to the store'. The BCDEDIT doesn't work anymore, but there is a means to install an unsigned device driver. That allows to install the (apparently unsigned) driver on the CD.

If so, it may be the same as mine, one or more sockets are IN only, for connecting another device eg older satellite receivers with no DVR, for pass-through to the TV or recording by the VCR, the other is IN and OUT.

I could not install the driver for K0065 based on the original CD. The Windows Defender is superseded by BitDefender TS. Thus, the folder protection was handled by BitDefender. I have tried to put those folders unprotected and reinstall the video grabber' driver with the same unfortunate result.
