Hi Everyone,

Am writing to report we were able to successfully record today's lecture, that I posted the Learning Outcome Quiz (which includes, for Q4, an item I went over only super fast today), and that the Admission Ticket (AT) for Lecture 2 is due prior to the start of class on Tuesday.  There is ~42 pages of reading for Tues, so might want to read some (or all) over the weekend.

All of the details are at http://www.atmos.umd.edu/~rjs/class/spr2017, which you might want to bookmark.

Also, if you keep a browser open, should hit refresh for this site as the content is updated quite frequently.

I have changed bullet 4 of slide 5 of the handout to read:

please complete (the ATs) on ELMS and email me and Pam only if you are having a problem with ELMS
Finally, when in doubt about a psswrd protected file, please try css2416

Cheers,
Ross

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to Pam, we are 3 for 3 in terms of capturing a recording of the lectures!

I have done my best to correctly update the content on the class website, including links to today's lecture material and the learning outcome quiz:

http://www.atmos.umd.edu/~rjs/class/spr2017

Please let me know if anything seems amiss.

Also have posted Problem Set #1, in the grid box for the due date.  For your convenience, here is the link:

Pam and I have done our best to provide an indication as to which lecture the problems map: the first question, for instance, can be completed based on completed lectures.  After Tues, most of the P Set questions can be addressed.  The first problem set is due on 14 Feb; I do advise getting started prior to 13 Feb, and taking advantage of the readiness of me and Pam to meet with students, either during our posted office hours or else by appointment.

Will post both Admission Tickets for next week by end of day tomorrow.
