I am searching for a v4/type 4/class driver UPD to install on Windows Server 2012 R2. Manual searching around the web and forums suggests that the HP UPDs are only v3 compatible at this time. The v4 drivers that are available on Server 2012 are all class drivers and appear to be model specific.

I also do not see v4 drivers for the m525 posted on the HP support site either. This suggests the v4 drivers for this model must be downloaded from Windows Update instead. That presents an additional challenge for servers that are normally blocked from direct internet access.

Does anyone know if there are plans to expand UPDs to v4 in the future? Perhaps we are overthinking the deployment of the new v4 drivers. Any info or clarification on how to manage v4 drivers would be appreciated.

I have installed the drives available in CD for Twain Drive for HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 MFP M525 .

But when I launch Twack_64.exe or Twack_32.exe and I press FileSelectSource. I do not see the driven in the list.

Please go to C:Windowstwain_32 and you should be able to find that your scanner driver has a sub-folder there. Try copying the dlls in the sub-folder and paste them to C:WindowsSysWOW64 and test with Twacker again.
