The Peace Corps Office of Communications is looking for a back-end developer to join the web and marketing team. Work collaboratively on projects from discovery and definition to the delivery of standards-compliant, rich user experiences. Maintain a nationally-recognized U.S. government agency website that receives more than five million visitors annually. Work in downtown Washington, D.C. and enjoy the many benefits of federal employment. You may be the right fit if you have:
· Ability to work independently and as a team player
· Communication skills (technical and non-technical)
· Ability to manage projects
· Experience developing for the web
· Very familiar with a high level programming language (Python a plus)
· Very familiar with a common web framework (Django a plus)
· Experience with object-oriented design and implementation
· Experience with MVC programming
· Experience with open source databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
· Experience with CVS (git a plus)
· Experience with JavaScript, jQuery or other Javascript libraries
· Experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
· Comfortable developing in a Linux/Apache environment
· Interest in learning and leveraging new solutions and methodologies
· Experience using third-party APIs and services
