I apologize for the somewhat late notice, but I just finished working out the first meeting date yesterday. I've been working to have Georgia Gwinnett College host Emerald City (I'm friends with one of the IT instructors and he's been working with GGC). The first meeting will be Saturday, September 27th at 10 am, Georgia Gwinnett College Room B2100. The room holds 30 people comfortably. GGC IT students and staff were invited, but I have no idea how many will show up.

Once again, Michael Hartl's "Ruby On Rails Tutorial" book will be used. I plan on using the next edition at https://draft.railstutorial.org even though it isn't due to be published for a few weeks. I will be preparing part of Chapter 1 for the first class, but with potentially a bunch of new people I may not get very far for the first meeting.

Parking: People can park in the star or visitor spaces right by the B Building.

Directions: Be careful using Google Maps or anything else as you can no longer access Collins Hill Road directly from GA 316, you now have to exit at GA 20. I'm going to drive by there tomorrow and post a follow up with the best way to get to the campus.

The B Building is a circular building, and the stairs are in the middle of the building. go through the double doors and walk straight ahead. Elevators are to the right of the stairs, which again are in the middle of the building. The room is back towards the parking lot and the library, which you will see as you walk in to the left of Building B. The room is B2100, which is the last room on the left.

Updated Directions:

Take 316 Eastbound to the Collins Hill / GA 20 exit (there will be a sign for the exit about a half mile before). Turn left at the light. Go over bridge and turn left at the second campus entrance on University Center Lane. Keep going until the road dead ends and turn right. Building B is the circular building at the end of the road.  People can park in any space marked staff or visitor.

The stairs are in the middle of the building. Go through the double doors and walk straight ahead. Elevators are to the right of the stairs, which again are in the middle of the building. The room is back towards the parking lot and the library, which you will see as you walk in to the left of Building B. The room is B2100, which is the last room on the left.
