Does anybody in the group want to work on this with me?

The end of February delivery date might be aggressive for newbie programmers, but this might be a great way to apply some of the RoR knowledge we have been learning. It seems to be a good cause, and incorporates many Rails website concepts: forms, databases, and CRUD.

The requirements document is attached.

Regards,

Jeff

Dave,

The 2Seeds Network project team that I am mentoring has recently honed in on a project plan that requires some third party web / database development expertise.  The project is to develop a basic database of agriculture crop price and volume information and a simple website for rural farmers in Tanzania to access the information.  With training and support from other 2Seeds teams, this could greatly improve the prices that farmers receive for their produce.

Attached is a brief outline of the system requirements and timeline that the team hopes to hit.  Do you know of any developers who would be interested in helping with this for free or at a reduced rate?  I can imagine this being a good project for a masters student, an interesting way to build a portfolio for a young developer with talent, or a pro-bono project for an established firm.  It is also for a good cause, and any pro-bono development hours could be counted as an in-kind donation for tax purposes.

I've CCed my team here.  Please have any interested parties reach out directly to them.

Look forward to catching up soon and hearing about what's new with CodeGuard.

Thanks,

Jimmy

Looks like this project (http://www.2seeds.org/kariakoo/) has a new
local
programmer and Dan Schlossberg and I will be having a Skype call in a
few days.

Who is interested in knowing about the progress on this project?

My goal is to limit the future emails regarding this project
to the folks who are interested in this project.

Thanks,
Al Snow

I am, unless Dan is going to insist on using .Net. (smile)

Jeff,
Working through the Cucumber book this week so I may try to use
Cucumber even if he uses .Net.  Might be an interesting experiment.
