Norėtume Jus pakviesti prisidėti prie pasaulinio projekto "Darom
2012". Gamtosauginė "Darom" akcija, kurios metu yra valoma ir tvarkoma
aplinka, be Europos šalių jau vyksta ir Indijoje, Brazilijoje ir
kitose valstybėse. Tikimasi, kad 2012 m. "Darom" arba "World Cleanup -
Let's Do It 2012" įvyks visame pasaulyje. Daugiau informacijos apie

Tarptautinė "Darom" komanda įpareigojo Lietuvos savanorius sukurti
tarptautinės Žinių grupę (Knowledge Management Group), kuri būtų
atsakinga už visą mokslinę akcijos pusę. Tai būtų ir informacija apie
tai kiek ir kur pasaulyje yra šiukšlių, koks yra jų poveikis aplinkai,
kiek ir kokių sąvartynų reikėtų, kiek tai kainuotų ir t.t.
Lietuvos komandos tikslas būtų tiek patiems rinkti šią informaciją,
tiek ieškoti partnerių - mokslininkų, konsultantų visame pasaulyje,
palaikyti ryšius su įvairiomis mokslinėmis ir kitomis institucijomis.

Let's do it! World Cleanup 2012
ID of the project
On the 24th of March 2012 millions of people around the globe will
participate in the biggest civic action in the history of the
humanity, cleaning up millions of tons of waste in one day! Three
additional dates will allow everybody in different climate regions to
join: 5th of May, 15th of September, and 22nd of October.
Who are we?
We are a civic action comprised of voluntary teams in different
countries, inviting the entire population of the Earth to join in the
action of cleaning our planet of waste in one day.
The goals of the project are
1. to bring together volunteers in all countries of the world to clean
illegally dumped waste on one day in 2012
2. to remove from nature millions of tons of waste and aim for the
highest possible recycling rate
3. to create the first global World waste register and map with
locations of illegal dumpsites, which will later serve as a permanent
monitoring tool for volunteers to keep their countries clean
4. to create a public database of good practices and solutions in
improving waste handling
Our mission is to empower individuals and groups to take
responsibility in cleaning the world together and keeping it clean in
the future.

Our guidelines
1. the responsibility for the state of the environment on Earth can't
be attributed to any single group or class of people or the authorities
--it is everyone's responsibility
2. the initiative and drive for cleaning up our planet comes from a
genuine universal civil movement, partnering with the institutions and
governments
3. the movement offers a practical solution--doing something together
for a cleaner world, without fighting against anything or anyone or
pointing fingers
4. everyone is a part of the project, no individual or group is
excluded from the action
5. the project connects through partnership and supports all people
and organizations world wide around a common task: making our home
planet clean
Our story
begins with the Let's do it Estonia! project on the 3rd of May 2008
The whole country of Estonia was cleaned by 50,000 volunteers (4% of
population) in 5 hours. They removed from nature 10,000 tons of
illegally dumped waste. On the same day Lithuania also organized the
action with 3,000 people as a pilot project for the next year's
action.
The idea quickly spread to other countries, leading to the following
cleanup actions:
13th of September 2008 - 50,000 people came to the country cleanup in
Latvia.
18th of April 2009 - 110,000 volunteers in Latvia and 50,000 in
Lithuania.
15th of August 2009 - thousands of volunteers participated In cleaning
Bengaluru, India.
20th of March 2010 - 100,000 people came to clean Portugal.
17th of April 2010 - 200,000 people were cleaning Lithuania.
17th of April 2010 - 270,000 people engaged in the cleanup of
Slovenia.
24th of April 2010 - 150,000 people cleaned Latvia.
5th of June 2010 - 1000 people cleaned Kiev, Ukraine.
6th of June 2010 - 200,000 people cleaned Serbia. (Outside of the
Let's do it! project.)
25th of September 2010 - more than 200.000 people can be expected to
participate in cleaning Romania.
Usually from 1% to 5% of population participated in the country
cleanups, but in Slovenia shattering 13,5% came to clean their
country, and an excellent illegal dumpsite register was created.
New Delhi in India has organized 1000-5000 people clean-up events
almost every weekend in 2010 and the big clean-up will take place on
the 26th of September 2010 (with an estimate of a few 100,000 people).
In 2010 Brazil from Latin America has started the Limpa Brasil!
action.
Finland, while being a rather clean country has decided to support the
action as much as possible and also wishes to bring people together in
common action.
There are seeds of initiatives inspired by this idea in Montenegro,
Macedonia, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, Croatia, Russia, France, Poland,
Ukraine, on Hawaii, Iceland, Sri Lanka, and in many other countries
around the world. We have been contacted by international waste clean-
up actions, paradise islands, project groups and people that deal with
waste every day.
Let's do it! World cleanup 2012 was born from the vast experience of
the country cleanups and the desire to unite all cleanup activities in
the world on one day with the participation of every country on the
planet.

Turiu du pasiūlymus ir du atviro kodo įrankius, kurie padėtų
organizuoti tokią pasaulinę akciją.
Pirma:
Siūlau šiukšlynų žemėlapiui kurti panaudoti openstreetmap galimybes.
Tai tarsi wikipedijos analogas GIS informacijos srityje.

Visiškai įmanoma, naudojantis openstreetmap padaryti pasaulinį
atliekų, nelegalių savartynų ir pan. žemėlapį. Na maps.lt tai tikrai
toli gražu tokių galimybių nepasiūlys :)
Dar man patiko Szczecino pavyzdys, kur biškutį bendradarbiavo savivaldybė
ir štai turime žemėlapį, kur kiekvienas medelis mieste sužymėtas:

Kaip aš susidariau įspūdį, tai openstreetmap galimybes riboja tik
žmogaus fantazija. Importuoja jie viską ką nori: nuo gis duomenų bazių
iki sovietinių skanuotų žemėlapių, gauna iš ten taip viską ko reikia -
tiek web naršyklėje matomą žemėlapį, tiek daugeliui nešiojamų GPS
imtuvų pritaikytus žemėlapius.
Orientacija į tokią sistemą būtų teisingas pasirinkimas.
Efektyvus. (ekologiškas?) Žmonių, kurie padėtų ją vystyti, tikrai yra
(dabar net už dyką vysto). Nauda visuomenei neabejotina. Taigi belieka
veikti.
Šis laiškas yra daugiau
idėjinis. Norint sužinoti daugiau techninių detalių apie openstreetmap
panaudojimo galimybes šitame projekte būtų galima paklausti OSM
lietuviškoje el. pašto konferencijoje.

Jau ten turėtų būti pakankamai techniškai gerai sistemą išmanančių.
Ten galima ieškoti patarimų ar žmonių norinčių prisidėti prie
projekto. Jei jau lietuviškame forume nebus atsakyta kas nors, galima
ieškoti tarptautiniame forume.
Antra: gal būt savanorių organizavimui ir darbų planavimui galima būtų
panaudoti atvirą platformą skirtą koordinuoti veiksmus stichijų
nusiaubtuose rajonuose.
