Hi, I'm trying to add a panel to the issue view on the scrum/kanban board.

I have looked at the web panel page https://developer.atlassian.com/static/connect/docs/latest/modules/common/web-panel.html and that points to the JIRA Software locations at https://developer.atlassian.com/jiracloud/jira-service-desk-modules-39988267.html, which doesn't list any locations at all.

If I click on the software modules (https://developer.atlassian.com/jiracloud/jira-software-modules-39987281.html) it shows an example with just one location (jira.agile.board.configuration).

If I then click on software modules - boards it shows two locations (jira.agile.board.tools) and (jira.agile.board.configuration).

This still doesn't give me the locations for within the Issue view.  Does anyone have any information on adding a panel here?

Thanks
Paul

Could you make a screenshot of the place you would like to place your panel?

Cheers,
Bartłomiej

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately, JIRA Software does not render custom panels in this view.

I've created an issue to track this feature request. Feel free to comment/vote/watch the issue at https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/ACJIRA-1040.

Cheers,
Bartłomiej

I'm sorry to ask again my question here, but is there a way to embed side view to the Cloud add-on? Asked that before but there was no answer

Hi Bartiomiej

Thanks for that.  Do you know if there is any time frame for when they think it will be available?

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul and Dimitry,

there is a web panel location for this already, atl.gh.issue.details.tab. This also came up on this mailing list in a thread last year, see that one for more details.

Cheers!

Just a quick note on the atl.gh.issue.details.tab location, you will come across the icon not being visible (ACJIRA-259) and this has two impacts:

1) Users don't find the panel because they don't know it exists or they need to scroll to get to it. We've had hundreds of customers support requests just to show people where it is.
2) If item 1 doesn't impact you, customers will send lots of bug reports about the icon being missing.

Cheers
Alan

As far as I can understand, side view can only be implemented in server version.
Am I missing something?
I'm trying to make something like that in Cloud add-on: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/c1i4uqgaigvqfxa/shot_160916_153745.png

Hi Einar

Thanks for that.  Do you know if that is a valid location for JIRA cloud?

Thanks
Paul

Like Dmitry I have tried adding in the panel to that location and it doesn't slow.  This must be a server only location at this stage.

Thank you, Paul!

At least now I do know it's not my misunderstanding. And it would bу awesome to know it this functionality will ever be available on Cloud.

Hi Dmitry.  I assume it will be added but it is just a matter of time, but how much time would be good to know.

Hi Paul and Dmitry,

Can you confirm we are talking about the same location?

The code I used to test that location can be found here, and it can be installed in your cloud development instance by uploading the following URL:
https://dboyd-atl.bitbucket.io/scrum-board-panel-location/atlassian-connect.json

Please note, that I modified the hello-world example code, to remove the "sizeToParent: true" option which could be related?

Hello, David!

I was talking about side view panel with issue info in common. On the image below there's a mockup I've made to explain my need. On the left it's custom report that we create in our add-on. On the right is panel with issue details from default board view.

Hi David

I think my one didn't work before because I had an Issue condition on it, one that worked in Issue but not in the scrum board.  It was the has_issue_permission / edit.  I have that one and it's inverted condition (to cater for edit and non edit users).  But even with having both (which you would think would cover all situations) nothing shows up.  The documentation doesn't seem to have any conditions specifically for JIRA Software so do you know which ones can be used?

Thanks
Paul

Hi Dmitry,

Thanks for the screenshot.
No, it's not currently possible in Cloud to include an issue side panel in a general add-on page.

Its a really interesting use case, though.

Would be great if you would submit this as a new feature requests for the Connect add-on framework at https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/AC/
