Delete Confluence attachment via REST API

Is it possible to delete attachment of Confluence page via REST API.

I was not able to find the API here https://docs.atlassian.com/confluence/REST/latest/

Not sure if it’s already available through the new REST API, but you can always use the XML-RPC wrapper:

Our REST API is a work in progress, we're working to get parity with the other, older APIs but we're not there yet :)

For the one interested in the topic, attachment deletion feature seems to be actually solved in Confluence 5.8.
