I was pretty furiously typing during alot of the presentations -
capturing notes and miscellaneous details.

Just uploaded the results of that to the AtlasCamp Google Group area.

Pretty close in alot of areas, I think. Although Don was speed-o-
light....

Maybe at least a lost nugget or memory jogger will be found.
Anyways, if useful to you, have at it.

Questions, contact the presenters - and MAJOR issues, post here so we
are all enlightened.

Cheers,

Ellen

Ellen,

What would you think about copying these notes into a wiki somewhere?
There are a few things that I could correct or clarify. The big one is
that my co-presenter's name is Rich Wallace, not Chris. I apologize
for not speaking clearly, but I want to make sure the right person
gets credit! :-)

Thanks,
Tim

Sure Tim - I'll do it -

BUT I do not have permissions to do such off the AtlasCamp WIKI site
(http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AUG/AtlasCamp )- so if u can fix
that for me (and everyone)? Seems like the logical spot. Let me know.

Jonathan Doklovic - some of those links you asked for are in the notes I
disted (albeit Word - sooo technologically dated - sheesh!)

Perhaps the Notes could be the start/spur of our own mini-KM sys, sorta
speak... (if useful, in evolution - )

Whoa collaboration - beauty mates..

Ellen

Dear Atlas Camp Folks,

I just got this from my accountant and I know there are several other small business owners in this group.

For me QuickBooks like accounting itself is an inconvenient reality of running a small business, but better than nothing and not too bad when you automate bank and credit card imports. If you use a Mac QuickBooks runs great through VMWare Fusion or Parallels.

Apologies if this does not apply to your country.

Have a great holiday season,
Brendan

Dear Clients & Friends,

I am passing along this promotional information because I think it is a really great deal!   You can get the latest Windows version of QuickBooks for free if you have the time to run to Staples tomorrow morning (Monday Dec 22nd)  and are good about sending in rebates.   Please see details below.

I do recommend upgrading your QuickBooks software every few years.

Best regards,

Amie

"FreeQuickBooks Pro 2009 for One Day Only

Chance for Clients to Get "Free" QuickBooks Pro 2009

Dear Amie Luke,

Our team just learned of a one-day promotion in which a buyer can obtain QuickBooks Pro 2009 for next to nothing – this coming Monday.

To help small business owners grow and run their companies, Intuit will offer the Windows version of QuickBooks Pro 2009 for free* at all Staples stores on Monday, Dec. 22, for one day only.

 The Meaning of "Free"

We’re using free* in quotation marks or with an asterisk because there are some conditions attached to this offer. It works like this:

  • The regular price at Staples is $199.99.
  • The customer will receive $40 in instant savings.
  • The customer at the store will receive a $159.99 mail-in rebate form.
  • When the customer mails in the rebate form they will receive, some weeks later, a rebate for $159.99.
  • Once the customer obtains the rebate, their base costs are zero: $199.99 - $40.00 - $159.99 = $0.
  • The buyer may still be responsible for sales tax at the time of purchase; sales tax is not free.

The offer is for one day only; limited to one copy of QuickBooks Pro per customer. You can find the nearest Staples store at www.staples.com or buy on-line.

  Note

We are using the word "free" in quotation marks or with an asterisk because some conditions apply. While the product costs are covered in the combination of discount and rebate, the buyer may still be liable for sales tax. The buyer must also follow through with the rebate, and not all buyers do. The conditions are spelled out in more detail in the section above, The Meaning of Free.
