Release Notes - Week to 8th May

Here are the Atlas release notes for the week to 8th May.

The following items have been deployed to production:

• Data for The Space, an experimental arts service from Arts Council England and the BBC
• e.g. http://atlas.metabroadcast.com/3.0/content.json?uri=http://thespace.org/items/e00000da
• Content groups: editorial groupings of content to support seasons, franchises and playlists
• Spelling fix for available_countries on channel groups
• channels.json now correctly supports the JSONP callback parameter

Hi

Can anyone provide any information on the concept of playlists mentioned in this release?

How are they created and how are they queried? Is it possible to create arbitrary groups of content that span publishers for example? For a given API key what permissions are required?

Hi Tom

Content groups are arbitrary groups of content that can contain content from any publisher. A type of playlist really just means there's no more specific semantics on what kind of group of it is, e.g. a broadcast season, and so it really is just a bag of stuff.

They can't currently be created through the POST API, but I'm sure we could look into this if it was going to be useful to you. Have you got a use in mind?
