Hey All,
The PBH guys are launching again in an attempt to cross the Atlantic.
While they is a small degree of competition its also a great chance to
learn a lot about how to go about doing a trans-Atlantic flight, a
good chance to develop the Distributed Listener System and also a lot
of fun!

Here is the info:
Flight Goals: Trans-Atlantic flight from USA to Europe; land the Air
Vehicle in Europe; attempt world record for distance
Flight Name: PBH-10
Launch Location: Owego, NY
Launch Window: 29 April, 2000-2300 EDT (30 April, 0000-0300 UTC)
HF Frequency: 7.102.55 MHz (we're using 40 meters this time!)

So how can you get involved? - well first just hang out in
#highaltitude, the plan is to make this the sort of unofficial meeting
place for people tracking along, I've contacted the PBH guys about
posting this on twitter but they are very busy preparing for the
launch so haven't got back to me. If you have an HF rig then you can
listen in, they'll be more information on the twitter page
(http://twitter.com/pbh3) also there is a chance to use the remote
radio stations forexample on globaltuners.com to listen in, some of us
will be using these to track the balloon, feel free to come along,
listen and take part.
Finally any data you get should be emailed to PBH...@gmail.com but
also we can use http://spacenear.us/tracker to create our own map (in
practice for our own future flights) - once the flight is in the air
I'll try and put together a client that is able to get the data (need
to make it fit to the telem they are sending). It is also possible to
input the data manually in to the distributed listener system on
http://www.robertharrison.org/listen/manual.php

Look forward to what should be a really good flight.
