Cupcake CNC is Awesome

Well I just got back from looking at the prototype for the Cupcake CNC
machine(http://store.makerbot.com/cupcake-cnc/cupcake-cnc-
presale.html). The best way to describe it is "Freakin' Cool".

It is essentially a REP Strap machine. In other words it can create
the components for the REP-RAP(http://reprap.org/bin/view/Main/
WebHome) machine but is not itself a REP-RAP. It extrudes a thin
filiment of ABS (or other) plastic and follows a g-code path to build
any small object you can model in a 3D program. Its electronics are
an Arduino varient

If anyone is interested in seeing the machine tonight I can call
Charles and set something up. He is up for going out for a drink and
showing it off. As a side note he does not work for Makerbot
Industries. He is a Highschool physics teacher and advisor for his
schools FIRST Robotics team. He took the initiative and contacted NYC
Resistor to get the prototype to bring down to the competition.
