On Saturday, April 21,2012, Dr. Bill Meehan lectured a captive audience on the pros and cons of effective leadership. Attendees also sampled explicit speeches of several leaders’ (Bobby Knight, George Patton, Queen Elizabeth I) trait and style. Dr. Meehan asserted, “certain traits and abilities indicate a great leader but they do not guarantee leadership.” Here is his leadership trait-checklist for the acronym, CITATIONS:
Confidence
Integrity
Trustworthy
Accountable
Teachable
Intelligent
Optimistic
Nice
Sociable
To find out your capacity to lead effectively, Dr. Meehan suggested to take a periodic self-assessment such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
