Duties and Responsibilities:
I.T. Senior Programmer/Analyst Visual Basic/SQL position is responsible for
new internal software development, programming modifications, report
development, and other functions in support of our internal operations
department and external clientele. Will work closely with other I.T.
personnel in conversions from legacy systems to new SQL/VB based internally
developed system.
Will work in partnership with other I.T team personnel and non-technical
personnel in a fast paced, demanding environment. Will occasionally work
and communicate with outside vendors and clientele. Promote positive
relationships between I.T. and other internal departments in addition to
external clients. Will work closely with support personnel, development
personnel located in other locations, and our quality control/training
personnel.
This position requires computer programming and design skills and excellent
communication and coordination skills. This position is best suited to an
individual that has experience in heterogeneous software environments, data
conversions, and migration from legacy systems to newer technologies. This
position will eventually be responsible for developing new software
modules/applications to provide efficiencies to our internal operations
department (after migration from legacy systems).
Qualifications:
Education- Bachelors Degree or Relevant Experience
Experience-three years experience as a Visual Basic application developer
with at least two years in an SQL environment.
Skills and Abilities- must have experience in VB and significant
exposure/knowledge of Crystal Reports, and use of Visual Basic in an
ASP/NT/IIS environment. Experience with MS MTS, MS Message Queue, Transact
SQL in a multi-tiered environment is a huge plus.
Any experience in the following areas a plus:
Technical: Clipper/Foxpro/dBase; DOS, MS InterDev, MS SourceSafe
Non-Technical: Familiarity with EDI, knowledge of general
accounting/auditing
General: Ability to ask questions and learn quickly. Ability to communicate
effectively and must be a team player. Ability to be organized and detail
oriented. Ability to establish and meet set goals. Ability to work in a
fast-paced, multi-tasked environment. Must have excellent interpersonal,
verbal and written communications skills.
