Dear Community,

Some of you may have received this email regarding dual citizenship at the upcoming convention.

For all those of you who have not yet considered obtaining your dual citizenship, this is a great opportunity to get it done. It's worth it! The hassle of trying to apply and get it in Uganda is so unstructured, painful, extremely expensive and frustrating.

You never know when you may need to use the dual citizenship, take advantage and not only get your certificate but also get your national ID. These two documents come in handy to get things done in Uganda. 

Secondly, do not allow your Ugandan passport to ever expire because it never fails but when you want to use it in an emergency of any sort, you have to know that it is still valid. The renew process has been significantly improved at the Uganda Embassy in DC.

I went through the process of getting a Dual Citizenship Certificate and National ID in Uganda, it was so frustrating. Please take advantage of the services in Washington.

Also, I have been told that the National ID is going to be "the document" to have, more like our Social Security number.  Mbu It will be more important than a Ugandan passport in the near future. I would strongly encourage everyone to get it.
