Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen,

I was thinking about the upcoming Gala and the kids performances. Last year I proposed having a fashion show but it was knocked down. I am bring it to a vote this year and request a change of the guard in terms of who will be running the kids presentations. I am able and willing to do so with your blessing. Thank you Kagale

Kagale,

You have my vote 100%. A fashion show sounds like a great idea! Please share what you're thinking for both girls and boys!
Thank you!

Good morning,

Kagale, thank you for your message. We had discussed that same idea this past Saturday.

I had proposed this to the Coach K and the Atlanta Cranes Members this past Saturday that we do a Fashion show and some Cultural performances for the Gala this year. The team was very responsive of the idea.

All ideas are OPEN and you are FREE and most welcome to run the fashion show. The more we are the better.

I and some other ladies can run other events for the Gala that were proposed as well.

For your information your idea was not knocked down in any way. We did not have enough time to run and prepare the fashion show and I indicated that in my last year's emails and you were okay with it.

Thank you and stay blessed!

Thanks,

Georgina

Good morning Cranes,

Hope you enjoyed the summer and are getting ready for the fall. Last Saturday, we discussed a fashion show for the kids at the gala. This is a great opportunity for the juniors to develop their talents.

I'm thrilled that Kagale has stepped forward to assist in this effort. I would like to invite another lady to assist her. At the Cranes, we are about getting everyone involved instead of having the same folks run things all the time. Andrew invited someone else to be the MC, but we didn't get any takers. I invited someone else to bring the water melon, but no takers. Coach T and I invited new folks to be the coaches, so that other folks can run things as well; no takers so far. I'm also asking for someone to assist me with the magazine production this year.

Our success will only continue if folk take an ownership stake in the team and back it up with effort like Kagale is doing. Gina and Peace have done an extraordinary job with the Juniors for 5 years, so they will appreciate our help. So, if you have any idea that can help move the team forward, don't wait to present it.

Looking forward another exciting awards Gala in the fall.

Best regards

Paul Kyegombe

Good morning,

Thank you Coach K for that clarification. I presented fashion show idea to you and the team this past Saturday.

Some of the Atlanta Cranes members were not there but others were not. The Gentlemen were there and a few ladies.

It was a proposal for a Fashion show and I also proposed other cultural events for the kids such as singing traditional songs,

performing traditional dances.

Kagale, it is great you will lead the fashion show, good job!

Atlanta Cranes is ABOUT ALL OUR CHILDREN and EMPOWERING EACH OTHER.

Everyone is free to lead with RESPECT and I request that PERSONAL ATTACKS should not

be what defines us as some prior emails have indicated.

It is important we RESPECT each other and each other's ideas. All our children have different talents

and they all should be given an OPPRTUNITY to present, perform whatever they would like at the GALA.

WE should be sensitive of each child's NEEDS and TALENTS.

Each individual is free to suggest ideas and they should be respected.

As I always say, each child should be given their 2 minutes of fame with parental guidance and consent of course.

We have great organizational skills and as long as we all keep time the GALA flows seamlessly.

Participation is not mandatory and we are about being INCLUSIVE of everyone's NEEDS.

WE are a TEAM and we need to keep it that way, we all have the same goals that is EMPOWER each other and our children.

Thank you,

Georgina Kirunda

Hi ALL,

I don't know if anyone has come across a black bag in the last 5 weeks that has our check book and my collection notes/materials.

I have been looking for it for may be 4 weeks. I remember seeing it after the Nyakairu wedding but cannot find it no where in the house or my car.

I am hoping may be some one picked it up during all the activity we had. Good thing is I haven't seen any money taken out of the account.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE IT OR KNOW SOME ONE THAT PICKED IT UP.

PS: When I find it I plan to retire as treasurer and move on to the Jamaican's.

God bless

Bajje

Paul,

In addition to another member  stepping up to be the MC, it would be nice if someone stepped up this year as the Culture Secretary. After 5 years, I think it's time for new blood in this role as well.

Kagale, these are not lectures. I have no problem at all, why should I? We are a TEAM and we have always been a TEAM.

I am talking about empowering our children and us the Atlanta Cranes is there anything wrong with that?

Empowering is a GOOD THING. These are some of the Atlanta Cranes' goals.

The organization is for ALL of US, not some of us.

Thanks,

Georgina

Georgina,
We are a TEAM so it will be a TEAM decision what will be done. You choosing to do your thing just because you don't like the TEAM decision is not being a TEAM PLAYER.  We all have something to contribute.  This is not just your TEAM.  For all the past Galas you have literally told us what topics we needed to do and we did.  Why can't you do the same? I take particular offense to your suggesting that just because I forward the idea of doing a collective performance for the kids that somehow I won't be EMPOWERING them.  What is so wrong with doing something different where ALL the kids can participate TOGETHER? You keep toting how the kids have different strengths,  I am well aware of that. But for once let them do something cohesive as a TEAM.  All I am asking is to go another route this year it will be just as EMPOWERING.  Teaching children to work as a TEAM is EMPOWERING them.

Good morning,

Kagale, WE, the Atlanta Cranes have always supported ALL IDEAS and that is what Atlanta Cranes is all about.

Last year different ideas were proposed and some children did something different that was facilitated and it was okay.

It is and always has been a TEAM Decision and TEAM work.

For your clarification, I have suggested TOPICS and if you read my carefully worded emails in the past. I have asked parents if

they would like to change the topic for their children to please let us know and remember participation has never been mandatory.

The initial emails I would write to ALL parents would be a proposed topic subject to change, and the team would agree to it or not, but the opportunity would be given to change the topic if needed. They would be "NO TAKERS" as Coach K said in a previous email.

When you say I do not foster TEAMWORK, that is wrong and "I DO MY OWN THING" that is wrong too. The reason we are all here is to move our organization, children and ourselves forward NOT anything else.

Years back we have had a group performance for our children when they performed in the Kiganda dance, you do remember that, don't you?

My point is if there are parents that at any given time would like to do something different the TEAM needs to facilitate that too, thus EVERYONE'S voice needs to be heard at all times as our children are different in so many ways.

Nobody has any opposition to the Fashion show you have the TEAM support so I do not understand what the problem is?

We are all on the same page of EMPOWERING and we ALL have the same GOALS; we are the ATLANTA CRANES.

Thank you and I hope that has clarified my points. You stepped up to do the fashion show and that is a great thing.

My last point, is we may AGREE TO DISAGREE but let's do it with RESPECT and let it be based on EVIDENCE and True facts.

Thank you,

Georgina
