Fireball was a rogue clone trooper who was a member of the Clone Underground network that was created by Clone Captain Rex early in the Imperial Era. Fireball was part of a mission that was involved in an attack on the prisoner transport ship alongside Gregor, Echo, and Nemec that rescued Howzer and two other clones.[4] He[5] would eventually be killed while defending the Underground's base on the planet Teth from an Imperial clone assassin, CX-2.[3]

Fireball[4] was created on the planet Kamino as a clone of the human bounty hunter Jango Fett[1] to serve as a clone trooper in the Galactic Republic's clone army during the Clone Wars against the Separatist Alliance.[6] At some point after the end of the Clone Wars and the rise of the Empire, Fireball went rogue and joined Rex's Clone Underground.[4]

Around 18 BBY,[7] Fireball took part in an attack on an Imperial Gozanti-class cruiser that was transporting disobedient clones from Balmorra to an unknown location. After boarding the vessel, Fireball was ordered by Echo to free Howzer and his men while he and Nemec secured the ship's bridge. After freeing and arming the clone prisoners, Fireball and the raiding party fled the ship upon the arrival of an Imperial Venator-class Star Destroyer. As the prisoner transport ship was strafed and destroyed by a squadron of V-wing starfighters, Fireball and the other rogue clones jumped to hyperspace in their ship.[4]

At some point around the same year;[2] Fireball was present at the Clone Underground Hideout at the B'omarr Order Monastery on the planet Teth when a brainwashed Imperial clone assassin, CX-1, was captured and brought in for interrogation. Fireball encrypted CX-1's data puck which he found out that it contained a target list that included Senator Avi Singh and Omega, forcing Rex to call Clone Force 99. When Clone Force 99 arrived to help with the interrogation, Fireball offered to cook for the group. When the clone assassin CX-2 attacked the Clone Underground base in order to kill CX-1 for failing his mission, Fireball grabbed a flamethrower in an attempt to throw off the assassin's aim and cover the others retreat, but he was shot in the shoulder, causing him to drop his weapon and collapse to the ground. The flamethrower ignited a nearby thermal detonator, which triggered several other detonators and caused a massive explosion that killed Fireball and buried the outpost in rubble.[3]

As a clone of Jango Fett, Fireball stood 1.83 meters tall and had tan-colored skin. Fireball was extremely proficient with blasters, taking out multiple stormtroopers with ease. He was also shown to be a very capable pilot. He showed selflessness and bravery when their base on Teth was attacked, grabbing a flamethrower and jumping in the line of fire to cover the others when he saw that Nemec was downed. At the Clone Underground base on Teth, Fireball was able to cook for the troops. When the Bad Batch visited the base, he cooked food that was of Gregor's personal recipe, with his own spicy modifications added.[3]

The rogue assassin was a clone trooper that served within the Grand Army of the Republic. The rogue was known to be hired by the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic to locate and assassinate Stormtrooper deserters or attack certain forces.

The rogue assassin was born in 32 BBY on the water planet of Kamino.[1][2] The assassin was cloned from Jango Fett, a bounty hunter of Mandalorian descent. The clone received basic training and possibly specialized training and eventually graduated, being placed in the Grand Army of the Republic, serving specifically within the 501st Legion.[3]

The assassin survived throughout the war, with one of his missions involving him being deployed to Polis Massa, where he was tasked with eliminating several IG-100 MagnaGuards who were acting as officers of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[3]

After the war ended, the clone troopers would serve in the Galactic Empire for a brief time, following Order 66 and Operation: Knightfall.[4] However, they would later be retired.[5] Despite his retirement, however, the rogue assassin remained hireable, doing what he had previously been trained to do. He would be hired by both sides during the Galactic Civil War, first by the Alliance to Restore the Republic, who hired him to assassinate a former detachment of Galactic Marines acting as an early Imperial squad of clone troopers on Yavin 4.[3] After completing his assignment, he was hired by the Galactic Empire to assassinate deserters on Mygeeto and Dagobah.[3]

Order 66 is a standing order that was given to clone troopers. Their obedience is controlled by a voice-activated biochip that overrides their personal opinions about their Jedi commanders. Any clone trooper told to execute Order 66 will presumably carry it out to the best of their ability, regardless of personal risk, for the remainder of their lives.

Since to the best of my knowledge the order was never rescinded, you would expect a clone trooper to attempt to carry it out 5, 10 or 30 years later. Not only would they have a legal responsibility to do so as long (for the remainder of the terms as soldiers of the Grand Army) but they would also have an inbuilt desire to do so as long as their biochips remained active.

If they were incommunicado (or maintaining radio silence) at the time Order 66 was given, they wouldn't know to act upon it until they were advised that the Order was in effect, either by hearing a recording of Palpatine's order or having been given the order by a superior officer.

Order 66: In the event of Jedi officers acting against the interests of the Republic, and after receiving specific orders verified as coming directly from the Supreme Commander (Chancellor), GAR commanders will remove those officers by lethal force, and command of the GAR will revert to the Supreme Commander (Chancellor) until a new command structure is established.

Other informationDate established 19 BBYThe Clone Underground was a resistance network of rogue Clone Troopers founded by Captain Rex early during the reign of the Galactic Empire. It was composed of deserters, dissidents, and undercover clones still serving in the Imperial Army. Its goal was to rescue clone troopers as the Empire cast more and more of them aside in favor of conscripted Stormtroopers.

The network had allies within the Empire such as Imperial Senator Riyo Chuchi. Clone Force 99 also assisted the network from time to time, who were themselves recruited by Rex's other allies, Rafa and Trace Martez. They freed clones imprisoned by the Empire, such as Clone Commando Gregor, and recruited them to the cause.

Developed as a genetic clone soldier of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett, the Rouge Assassin would be raised to fight in the Grand Army of the Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. During his service, the Rouge Assassin would obtain a set of both Phase I and Phase II Clone Trooper armor outfitted with a JT-12 Jetpack indicating that he had fought in the Clone Wars as a Jet Trooper.

As the Clone Wars drew to a close with the execution of Order 66 and the reorganization of the Galactic Republic into the First Galactic Empire, the Rouge Assassin likely transitioned into the new Stormtrooper Corps of the new order before choosing to pursue a career as a mercenary for hire, taking his equipment and armor from his service in the Republic military with him.

Under his new banner as a mercenary, the Rouge Assassin would take a job destroying a contingent of Separatist battle droids operating on the barren planetoid of Polis Massa, where he had been dispatched by an unknown client to eliminate several IG-100 MagnaGuards to disrupt the operations of both the Trade Federation and the Techno Union whilst both galactic corporations where distracted with a internal dispute. The Rouge Assassin was successful in his mission, being compensated for his efforts and continuing to operate in the galaxy. The Rouge Assassin's next operation was for the early members of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, who hired the clone mercenary to eliminate a small task force of clone stormtroopers which had been located on the jungle moon of Yavin IV, operating out of the ancient Massassi Temples. Despite the traditional bond known to exist between clone troopers, the Rouge Assassin accepted the operation, eliminating six Galactic Marines designated as commanders for the task force alongside with their stormtrooper subordinates.

Despite this operation, the Rouge Assassin would not face recompense from the Galactic Empire, and would instead be hired by the regime to hunt down deserting coalitions of Imperial soldiers. In the first of these assignments, the Rouge Assassin was dispatched to the swamp world of Dagobah, where he was able to target and eliminate three deserting Imperial Officers along with their stormtrooper escorts. Having proven his worth to his Imperial contractors, the Rouge Assassin would be dispatched on a second mission to eliminate another coalition of defecting Imperial soldiers on the war-torn planet of Mygeeto. There, the Rouge Assassin fought through the streets of a war-torn city against several deserting stormtroopers including units of scout trooper, shock trooper, and even some Phase 0 dark troopers before managing to locate and eliminate another set of three Imperial Officers commanding the deserting stormtroopers.
