There are many benefits if you make a storyboard online. Humans have evolved through storytelling, and our brains are geared to process information in story form. Proverbs have been passed down for millennia, and we have evidence to this day in the form of cave drawings found throughout the world.

When you storyboard, you are essentially taking advantage of the way our brains process information. You are breaking down a larger task into manageable chunks and then creating a visual representation of that task and information. This has been shown to increase productivity and understanding.

I want to use Story point estimate in planning for the teams initial estimate. Then over the sprint I track effort spent in the "Story points" actual effort. But in the Board Settings Estimation tab I can't pick (per the docs). I would like to use a custom field in this case "Story Point Estimate"

@Tom Martin, welcome to the Community. Would you mind pointing me to the documentation you are referencing so that I might better understand your question. TBH, SPE is not ringing a bell with me at least as far as a custom field. The only thing I'm familiar with is using Story Points for estimation which is chosen in the board settings under estimation. This leverages the default fields offered by Jira (OE and RE).

@Tom Martin, I don't think the document is speaking to using a custom field. Rather it is simply speaking to the fact that you can estimate in SP and track in either SP or time. Many teams will use SP for estimation and time for tracking as noted.

I have a management meeting once a month, where I show certain graphs and tables. How do I create a "template" of what I want to show, and then apply a certain time selection to that template? e.g. every month I would update the date selection, and the story board would show me all my graphs with that chosen selection.

UPDATE: Even though I deleted the storyboard, I've noticed that the compiler still compiles and runs the program and has all the same UIButtons and UILabels with the correct sizes, text labels, and positioning. All as if it never was deleted! Im guessing that the information is still there somewhere! does anyone know if there is perhaps a copy saved within xcode somewhere that i can used to recreate the storyboard file?

When undeleting, the more you use your disk after deleting a file, the less chance of recovery, so if you're really serious, you should install the program on another Mac and move the disk to that for recovery so that you won't overwrite anything.

I had the same problem, I localized my storyboard and and failed at checking the wright option that leaded to only one storyboard.string file and my original storyboard was deleted by xcode. Hopefully, the original storyboard file was put un the trash so I was able to restore it. Perhaps now the new XCode 8 version puts the file int the trash by default.

No matter how amazing the gig, over time everything becomes a job. At some point in my work life I had set aside my personal projects, not realizing it was those creative exercises that gave me drive and passion. I was relying on work to energize me but it was doing the opposite.

Another reason for procrastination can be medical. For people living with ADHD and depression, you, like me, may need professional help to develop sound strategies or consider medication to address procrastination and other symptoms. This is nothing to be ashamed of, as some of us are simply wired differently.

As someone living with depression, I am also kind to myself when the black dog shows up. I forgive procrastination and do my best to get back on track as quickly as possible. Otherwise, it can be too easy to get in a delay death spiral, guilting myself for not starting sooner, causing me to avoid the task further.

Being present and active on relevant social networks is a fabulous opportunity to help people as well as share your unique knowledge and expertise. Through authentic interactions, you build trust with your followers. People hire people they trust.

If you have the right sort of sense of humour and can adapt your mind to their unique points of view, you may find yourself in constant demand writing for these inanimate objects. I have spent a number of years doing so, on and off, and have never had more fun or creative satisfaction.

You can employ the imaginative qualities of storytelling usually associated with animation but it still requires live action constraints and realities (although this may not be as much an issue in a filmed project capable of special visual effects).

Approach them directly and make your pitch. There is an enormous live performance market to fill. You might be asked to write generic scripts (such as for a birthday party for children or adults) or special occasion material (such as for a specific trade convention) or occasionally a more structured theatrical piece with which to tour and perform in local schools, churches or community centres.

Sometimes life-like replica puppets have been used on current affairs TV shows to comedically illustrate some aspect of the news. This sort of project is always challenging. Your TV producer will most likely want a heavy satirical edge on the news; the puppeteers may want to explore the same subject in a style unique to themselves.

However, such a gig is to be much sought-after. It practically guarantees more work (if the initial appearance is successful) and as the news is constantly changing. So if you have a strong news instinct combined with a sense of satire do not pass up any opportunities to write for puppets in this context.
