I live in West Florida and is somewhat like Secret Water, very shallow
and easy to get aground at low tide.
But also has a resemblance to Crab Island in Peter Duck with palm
trees, land crabs (tiny ones) and parrots.

I live on Kachemak Bay off Cook Inlet on the Kenai Peninsula,
Alaska. We have a number of islands in the bay that can be visited by
boat. North of here by about 3 hours is a wonderful campground at
Hidden Lake. In Hidden Lake is a Wildcat Island of our own...part of
the State Park there. It has 2 campsites and sits in a lake very like
Coniston Water. We have done S&A activities there for years.

Thanks for creating this group! PJ

Presumably you can also have Winter Holiday every year, any ice
yachts?

On Beluga Lake we sailed our homemade ice boat, made of snow machine
skis, an old sail from our honeymoon voyage and scavenged lumber, when
there was enough ice and no snow. Got our picture in the paper and
later on the Tourist Guide to Homer. Only a few days a year are right
for this sort of thing, here on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. Later, my
sons found an old iceboat made from a kit and brought it home from BSA
camp. Several years we sailed it when conditions allowed. Glorious
fun! I will see about sending photos along to y'all. We love Winter
Holiday. Once with Cub Scout families, we reenacted the race for the
Pole, complete with real dog team as well as sleds pulled by human dog
teams. Good memories!! PJ

I live near the Columbia River Gorge in Washington State. Because of
all the hydro-electric dams, it has become a series of large lakes
with islands and inlets, etc. It reminds me a lot of the Ransome
books.
