No decent sized bodies of water to put an ice yacht onto.  Not freezes enough to support such activities anyway, not even enough for ice skating.  We get ice on still bodies of water but not thick enough.  We do have rolling country side, not what I call mountains.  This is horse racing country, with the rolling land used for pastures where very expensive horses run about just for the fun of it, with painted board fences containing their activities.  Not quite Lake District MTN type of country however.

Presumably you can also have Winter Holiday every year, any ice
yachts?

I'm not sure if this is the place to answer the above question, but
here goes - - Here in North Central Kansas we have several Corps of
Engineers lakes. The closest is Lake Wilson (the clearest lake in
Kansas) which spreads over several square miles. There are supposed
to be pictogliphs which are only accessable by boat. Quite a few very
interesting rock outcropings, not at all like the popular
interpretation of Kansas - definitely NOT flat. There are a very few
sailboats here, mostly power boats and a few fisherman. It would be a
fun place for a get together -equal distance from either coast! and
both borders! The center of the contigeous (sp?) United States is
about 30 miles north of Lucas. We do have some ice and I did see some
ice fishermen a couple weeks ago up near the dam where the ice was
thick.
