we are a large organization, connecting to archive mails via mobile is very common by us. we don't want to use imap as it is not a secure protocol (which I believe is the true reason why very few costumers use it). however outlook add-ins work with https which makes it a very comfortable and secure method to connect to the archive.
Does anyone has tried removing Enterprise Vault via commands mentioned below provide in a article (original link)? I am able to remove the Vault client software and cache & registry vault with below script but Vault folder "Vault - USER NAME" is still visible in outlook 2016 folder panel.
Since last two weeks I have 3 different cases of new computers displaying "enterprise vault outlook add-in could not establish a connection to your exchange mailbox." when Outlook is launched. I've tried to make a resetevclient, fixmapi, reinstall EV Client (v 12.3.2.1525), zap the account but nothing succeeded.
Yes. The Enterprise Vault add-ins is integrated into OWA when you are enabled for Enterprise Vault. All functionality that you have in Outlook is available in OWA. To access the vault from OWA, an email will need to be opened and you will see the Enterprise Vault App that is integrated into OWA.
1) This office mail app is not an mandatory feature to be enabled for all users . All users can see their archived items from the archive URL and the EV thick client on their desktops. This mail app gives more comfort for the end users to access, make operations on their archive from the owa and viewing their email on outlook itself.
2) Support for the Enterprise Vault Office Mail App is pending from Exchange 2016 CU1 and not in Symantec compatibility lists.At this moment the Office mail app is working only on owa in Exchange 2016 CU2. Symantec has confirmed that they will be soon releasing a patch which will support this feature on Outlook as well.
3) With Exchange 2016 CU2 Archive is working fine on the Outlook EV Client and the EV Web URL.
4) Enterprise vault to be compatible with Exchange 2016 Cu2 server version requires Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 Cumulative Hotfix 4 or later.
