Hi all,
Just a quick update to let you know what has been going on in the off
season.
Several volunteers helped close up the fields over the last couple of
weeks. We took down all the outfield signs, our flags, the bunting
decorations, and the green monster fabric. We removed all the
backstops as well. All of that was stored for the winter. We also
took down the batting cage and stored it off site. The portable
batting cage was also disassembled and stored.
The bunting was cleaned and stored. Almost a third of it is aged and
torn and cannot be reused. The big bunting is really expensive so if
anyone sees it on sale let me know. Otherwise we will probably be a
little short next year in having those decorations. One of the flags
had to be retired as well as it was well weathered.
The city wanted their space back in the white building so we moved our
stuff out of there.
We weeded out all the flower boxes, removed the dead flowers from the
boxes and around the main monument. We also trimmed the shrubs in
front of Fenway, the main monument and Jacobs. We also trimmed some
around some of the fields.
The concession stand has been cleaned and the perishables removed.
Thanks to everyone who helped. Enjoy fall and winter as we get ready
to do it all again next Spring!
