Athens, Georgia the premier bicycling community in the United States!*

Hello AthensGaBicycling riders,

With the start of August we only have two months, August and September, of 6:00pm complete evening rides to go. (Most rides switch to 5:30pm in October and are shortened.) With this in mind, each week’s rides are more valuable than ever.

So pick a ride, get your bicycle ready and have a great time!

Here is a breakdown of ride start locations, so you can mentally visualize a ride start close to your work or home:

Athens eastside:

  • Thursday Gazelle from Whit Davis Elementary

  • Sunday Gazelle from Whit Davis Elementary

  • Tuesday Cheetah from The Hub Bicycles

  • Tuesday Mountain bike ride from The Hub Bicycles

AGB Tip of the Week:

Many new riders do not realize that bicycle tires should be pumped-up before each ride to the manufacturer’s recommended tire pressure, which can be found on the sidewall of the tire. The major benefits of pumping up your tires before each ride is less tire rolling resistance and less likelihood of flats. Many high-pressure road tires lose 10 psi per day, so after one week the tires can lose half of their pressure!

Good riding!

Joe
