Athens, Georgia the premier bicycling community in the United States!*
Hello AthensGaBicycling riders,
Though the weather is a bit bad today, the weather seems to be on a positive trajectory with highs in the 60°s for Saturday, according to Weather.com.
The Antelope Wonderful Wednesday Winter ride continues this Wednesday at 2:00pm from the Watkinsville courthouse. The ride got off to a great start for 2014, attracting 11 participants the first week of November. If you have some vacation time to burn before the end of the year, join your friends this Wednesday afternoon or any Wednesday over the winter.
Also, two rides to keep you warm on the inside this Saturday:
Antelope at 10:00am Saturday from the Watkinsville Courthouse
Gazelle at 10:00am Saturday from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 2227 Diamond Hill Neese Road, Hull (Neese Road is about 10 minutes by car north of Athens)
Due to weather constraints the inaugural Monday 2:00pm Gazelle afternoon ride with a downtown/boulevard area start has been postponed until the first week of December.
A few other ride updates:
The Sunday Women only ride from Georgia Cycle Sports has been changed permanently to an 11:00am start time
The new Elk 1:00pm Wednesday afternoon ride rotates between Oconee Heights Baptist Church in Athens (1st, 3rd, 5th Wednesdays) and the Watkinsville Courthouse (2nd and 4th Wednesdays)
Many other great rides this week. Please see the Ride Calendar.
AGB Tip of the Week:
Most rides are canceled when it is raining or the when roads are wet.
Good riding!
Joe
