AthensGaBicycling.com Newsletter
Dear AthensGaBicycling riders,
With rain falling for several days this week, it may be a great time for a little bicycle cleaning. As many people may not know a bicycle and it components need to be cleaned. This includes the chain, cables and all other parts of the bike. Without proper cleaning, sometimes bad things happen, such as gears not shifting, brakes not working or even worse, your bicycle not being shiny.
For novice bike cleaners, just perform a quick search on youtube.com, which will show you step-by-step instructions. Or take your bike to your favorite bicycle shop, which will be happy to clean your bicycle for you, obviously for a fee. Then you will be ready to hit the road for any of the great rides scheduled for the week.
Finally, for all Antelopes, who have yet to join the Saturday 8:00am Courthouse version, though officially a leaderless ride, normally, JeffY has a route determined, which is ever changing, but with emphasis on a fun and scenic route. Plus, though the ride cannot guarantee his presence, if he is present you will not be dropped…unless you cannot keep up with him or you cannot entice him after the ride with one of the world’s most popular beverages.
Happy cycling,
Joe

Dear AthensGaBicycling riders,
As we celebrate the last day of spring with summer officially beginning tomorrow, many great rides are ahead of us. Also, the local charity rides are completed until the Pedal for Paws ride, which is currently scheduled in the fall for October 6. So the bad news is no more SAG support, but the good news is you can still ride each week with your friends.
One last item for all the new riders: as the temperatures are scheduled to reach the 90s and beyond this week, please make sure to bring plenty water or sports drink to keep hydrated on the rides.
