Men’s Bake Sale
Saturday, June 20th

Here's a challenge to all you men out there who don't feel that women
know their way around a tool shed. In the spirit of Father's Day, the
Women Build Program challenges men in the community to wear an apron
and whip up some baked goods for the Men's Bake Sale on June 20, 2009.
Ladies, this is your chance to put your man in an apron and see what
happens! This bake sale will be held in conjunction with the Farmer's
Market in Bishop Park to sell baked goods made by our "Men with
Aprons" team.

The bake sale will include cookies, cakes, and cupcakes (and anything
else that won’t melt!). Remember, creativity goes a long way--Father's
Day is the day after the bake sale, so decorate your items to make
them really stand out.

The Men’s Bake Sale will be held on Saturday, June 20th from 8:00am to
12:00pm at Bishop Park. Men who are interested in donating baked goods
should drop their delicious treats at the Habitat office by 5:00pm on
Friday, June 19th. We encourage all members of the “Men with Aprons”
team to submit a photo of themselves in an apron with their baked
good.

If you are interested in joining the “Men with Aprons” team (or have a
man you would like to “strongly encourage” to participate) please
email women...@athenshabitat.com or call Athens Area Habitat for
Humanity at (706) 208-1001.

Women Build empowers women to build homes, enabling them to positively
impact the lives of families by making homeownership a present
reality. The idea is not about excluding men, it's about including
women and encouraging them to take an active role in their community.
