Baileys Trails Closed for Deer Gun Hunting Nov 20-21 & Nov 29-Dec 5

A reminder that the Baileys Trail System will be closed to bikes for deer gun hunting season this weekend, Nov. 20 & 21, and also the entire week after Thanksgiving, starting on Monday Nov. 29.
There are ~50 miles of mountain biking trails maintained by the Athens Bicycle Club at Strouds Run and Lake Hope State Parks that are closed to hunting. The trails at Lake Hope, in particular are mostly very well-drained, so they are generally damp weather friendly.
Have fun, and stay safe out there.

I really wish you’d do a bit of research before you make these sorts of official sounding proclamations. 

The vast majority of Strouds is open to hunting and always has been.

No hunting at Lake Hope... Orange would be smart anyway!
Strouds at your own risk... with a lot of Orange! 
Bailey’s closed to bikes... but you can run/walk in all brown with a white Pom Pom on your hat🙄

We as a club years ago voted not to make any comment about what is safe to ride in Southern Ohio! That is strictly Rob Delach

Sorry Sean, it wasn't about research, it was that the fact had slipped my mind. I also don't come with decades of experience here. It is also a bit counter-intuitive that hunting is allowed in a public state park. I guess I still can't wrap my head around that.

Thanks to the Schultz Brothers and Sean for pointing out my mistake in the Baileys Closure post. It has been corrected on Facebook as well. 

As another FYI. Many of us are out doing trailwork on the Baileys ad hoc, removing trees, pruning trails, or doing reconnaissance. The Wayne National Forest Policy is that no volunteer trail work is to be conducted during deer gun closures, so please don't worry about trees that need clearing or other trail work during the gun season. 

According to the Baileys Trail System, those dates are: 
Nov. 20-21
Nov. 29-Dec. 5
Dec. 18-19
Jan 8-11
