We're still working on ATHENA. We released 1.2 on September 5 and it can be downloaded here:
https://github.com/fracturedatlas/ATHENA/downloads
I haven't been promoting it heavily primarily because ATHENA, as of 1.2, still has no default schema. Implementors need to define properties of tickets at install time. This is a big barrier for implementation.
ATHENA loading a default schema on startup will be included in 1.3. You can see the issues here:
https://github.com/fracturedatlas/ATHENA/issues?milestone=3&state=open
Documentation (in progress, as always) is here: https://github.com/fracturedatlas/ATHENA/wiki/Using-ATHENA
Once 1.3 is released (October-ish?) ATHENA will be in a position to be served from a number of platforms. We have it running standalone on EC2 Ubuntu, on Amazon Elastic Beanstalk, and on Dotcloud. This will make it very easy for people to get ATHENA running quickly and and build clients around it.
We have a lot of smart people on the list so I'll be happy to nag you all for help :)
Thanks,
Gary
