This is a thread that will remain open for a few days to discuss the
current implementation of the moderator's forum.

The way issues will be resolved here is:

1) If someone has an issue, they make a post.

2) The moderators will address it.

3) If there is anything remotely controversial about it, the post will
remain open.

4) If there is a simple and clear cut answer, the moderators will post
the conclusion.

5) In either case, when there is a well-defined answer to the well-
defined question, the thread will be closed.

If people don't like this policy, please voice it here and state your
arguments. I am closing threads that are resolved right now for the
time being.

This is to localize the disagreements to a well-structured place. The
moderators need to keep up with actual issues, so bickering will be
cut off fairly quickly. This forum is intended to have a well-defined
purpose and we're not letting it completely open for debate.

If people don't like the policies on AvC or have incidents they would
like to report, we will address them here. However it is not a
mudslinging forum.

Thank you,
The AvC moderation forum management.

Good

Anyone should address it. All should be welcome to address it and no
moderator should be obligated to address it.
I can see no reason for this rule

Why should it be controversial? It should remain open for as long as
anyone should want to address it.

There is no such thing as a simple and clear cut answer. To think that
is to lack imagination.

No thread should ever close. I can not see any reason why any thread
should ever close.

Moderation should only be invoked to prevent selling, spamming,
advertising, appeals for cash, and pornography.

Although it might be in our interests to advise contributors to argue
to the point, no sanction should ever be invoked against a person for
the means by which they argue or the quality of their argument. We
should all be able to speak our mind. Other posters have to right to
ignore us.
