If we are to maintain a democratic oversight then whatever I say as a minority is just of my own opining
and I must respect the majority decision as binding. I do not have to change my opinion and I trust no

It is probably worth pointing out that AvC does not have democratic oversight.  Rap and I "own" the group and can do pretty much whatever we want with no input from anyone.  That being said, we choose to treat ownership of the group as a mostly hands off operation that is required by Google and done for the protection of the group.  AvC was originally created to be a no holds barred discussion group where atheists and Christians could engage in debate.  It has evolved somewhat from its early days, but all along the attempt has been made to keep it as unmoderated as possible.  And as owners, we accept that and only get involved to protect the groups ability to continue to function as intended; and we seldom do that without input from others.  We will never please everyone with anything we do, including doing nothing, but when we do act, it is in what we believe the best interests of the group and its nature as an open discussion forum.
