magazines done in drupal

Hi all,
I am looking for examples of magazines (cover page./splash page),
table of contents, you know, a traditional magazine "look" but moved
to online in drupal.

Any examples I should take a look at? one thought would do this using
the book format/module in drupal, but I'd like each issue to be
completely separate, including the toc.
