SUBJECT: Reinstatement of MPM Students
_______________________________________________________________
The Ateneo School of Government is preparing to migrate its student records to a new system. Part of the effort to migrate the data is identify the records that we shall keep current, and to archive the rest. In line with this, we have identified the students who began work on the Master in Public Management program but were unable to finish, and are reaching out to see if there is an interest on your part to continue the pursuit of your Masteral degree. We are ready and willing to reinstate you as MPM students and help obtain your degree.
The conditions of this reinstatement include:
- Penalty courses: The maximum residency period of the MPM program is 5 years, i.e. the program should be completed within a 5-year period starting from the first date of enrollment. We are willing to reinstate students who first entered the program more than five years ago, provided that:
- For students who first enrolled in the program in June 2012 or later, no penalty courses necessary.
- For students who first enrolled in the program between June 2008 to May 2012, you will be required to take three (3) additional courses (9 units) in addition to the 13 courses (39 units) required for the MPM degree. The three (3) additional courses may be any MPM course on offer (core or elective).
- For students who first enrolled in program before June 2008, you will be required to take six (6) additional courses (18 units) in addition to the 13 courses (39 units) required for the MPM degree. Of the six (6) additional courses, three courses should be core courses, and the other three may be any MPM course on offer (core or elective).
- Program Completion: All courses, including the Governance Innovation Report and the defense thereof, should be completed on or before 31 July 2019.
Should you be interested, please send a formal letter requesting reinstatement to Ms. Cristina M. Alikpala, ASOG Academic Head,
on or before 15 December 2017. Please indicate in your letter your complete and current contact details for further processing. If we do not hear from you before December 15th, we shall deem you to have officially withdrawn from the MPM program.
We have attached here the course offering for the coming term November 2017 - January 2018. For queries or to request a specific review of your MPM status (i.e. courses you have completed vis-a-vis those you have yet to complete), please email
academ...@ateneo.edu with
"MPM Reinstatement" indicated in the Subject.
Thank you and we hope to welcome you back to ASOG soon.
