Hey all,

Trying to quickly settle on a meeting time for open & constructive discussion of the website, with as many of the interested parties there as possible.  I want to include an announcement in the newsletter (which will be ready by Monday).

I posted this on a Facebook thread:
"On Sunday 8/14, we have orientation @4 and potluck @5 (with some special guests), at Soma Vida. I kind of like the idea of starting a re-design discussion at around 3:30 in a separate room from the orientation and having until 5ish to discuss and brainstorm. I (Amanda) would break away to do the orientation, but I think Rich would be able to also be there and if all the input could be recorded somehow so it could be shared... that would be good. What do you all think?"

I think a meeting agenda would be something along the lines of:
  • Round-robin sharing of ideas
  • List specific improvements brainstormed / goals for website redesign
  • Create a plan for reaching goals (including specific tasks for people)
Of course that's really simply put, but just a place to start.

Who can make it at that time/place?

-Amanda

here's the two captures of the whiteboard:

amanda, great job facilitating!

a few notes...please add anything i missed.  the highest impact issue is landing page redesign. all present agreed that bunny should lead this and bunny accepted. work on this will begin sometime in september. everyone seemed to agree that wordpress would be the best for the front-end. rich showed us http://blog.austintimeexchange.org and i showed a proof of concept that we can apply a wordpress theme to the oscurrency ruby site for consistency.

for reference, here's a list of some of the oscurrency-related issues we discussed:

display current offers instead of all offers

General for top category

Change "Reqs" to "Requests"

favorites

preference for results per page

color coded status on reqs and offers

thanks for the excellent UI ideas and the gummy worms, bunny! rich, could you add a comment on issue #122 with explanation?

again, reply with what i didn't include!

cheers,
tom
