Hi everyone,

We want to extend a huge thank you to all of our external contributors. Since we open-sourced the Agent Substrate project in May, your contributions, feedback, and engagement have been invaluable in helping us build a high-performance, low-latency runtime environment for large-scale agent deployments.

Here are some updates:

M2 Release & v0.1.x Branching

Following Tim Hockin's proposal for release and tagging for the M2 release, we plan to cut the v0.1.x branch by EOD September 2nd or early morning September 3rd (Pacific Time). It is important for us to follow a release rhythm.

Bug Bash: September 3rd

We plan to run an async offline Bug Bash on Thursday, September 3rd, and we would love the community's help. Specifically, we are looking for contributions in the following areas against main:

  • Verify Substrate Cluster Installation: Ensure the installation process is seamless across various environments.

  • Execute Real-World Workloads & Demos: Run through all core demos to ensure stability and correctness.

  • Stress Test Actor Lifecycle: Help us validate critical performance and reliability metrics, including:

    • Sub-second suspend and resume cycles.

    • Memory and filesystem state persistence.

    • Snapshot tagging functionality.

    • Worker oversubscription stability.

Please follow the Github bug template to file issues, and add the bug-bash label

Thank you again for your continued support and for being a part of the Agent Substrate community!

Best regards,

The Agent Substrate Team
