Objective: In the development of cosmetic products, sensory evaluation is an important step in determining consumer acceptance before it is released on a market but is often time-consuming and costly. However, correlating sensory characteristics with instrumental parameters using multivariate techniques is a potential way to facilitate the development of cosmetic products.

Methods: Sunscreen formulations varied in the content of grape seed extract (GSE) and ultraviolet (UV) filters, and benchmark products were characterized using sensory descriptive analysis and instrumental analysis. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was applied to the panel's performance data to study how well the panelists performed compared to each other and to find an association between rheological and textural instrumental parameters of cream samples. Further, applying Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression analysis, the association between sensory attributes and instrumental parameters was analyzed. In addition, a preference for the sensory properties of the studied sunscreen products that are important for consumers living in Southeast Asia was assessed by PLS.

Results: In this study, both the sensory and instrumental properties of all tested formulations were described well by PCA. The practicality of PLS was confirmed by an established correlation between sensory attributes from the categories of appearance (glossiness), pick-up (integrity of shape, firmness, glossiness, stringiness), and after-feel (glossiness, spreadability, stickiness) with both rheological and textural parameters. Although the instrumental analysis could not completely replace sensory evaluation, a described method applying PLS can be used as an additional cost-effective and time-saving method during the development of cosmetic products. Moreover, PLS revealed that sunscreens with a light texture and glossy appearance providing smooth skin after-feel are likely to be preferred over the thicker formulations having a residual color appearance in Southeast Asia.

Conclusion: Until a universal model is created, the cosmetics developers and companies can apply a described method of determining sensory properties from the instrumental parameters of their own products. Future studies will be worth exploiting the applicability of the PLS regression model on instrumental datasets predicting sensory characteristics of other sunscreen products.

Decided to attempt to edit the original version of Seed down to just an instrumental. This is a rough version but hopefully I can make it better in the future. also, I had to add 60seconds of silence because Soundcloud kept removing this lmfaoooo fml. Oh, I also had to pitch down once by -1000, hence the weird crunchy audio during the chorus.

Ok, so this track is technically an original song, however it's based off of a show song. Why? well, it's a direct instrumental from my remix, which does not include any samples from the show itself. The reason I made this track was because some people, upon the release of my Babs Seed remix, insisted that I release an instrumental-only version, despite me saying that it was slightly less exciting than the original remix. They continued to insist, and so I caved.Enjoy

I am a programmer, and I can't program while listening to songs with lyrics because I get easily distracted. So, I found this great channel Instrumental Bluegrass, but lately, they have been playing a bunch of songs with lyrics. What can I do to get rid of all these songs that have NO business being on a channel call 'Instrumental'

For complete control of what you hear on Pandora, try Pandora Premium. It combines our radio service with on-demand listening and allows you to create custom playlists, so you can create full playlists with only instrumental music. Use this link to learn about the many benefits of upgrading.

In the meantime, you can still find instrumental stations and playlists by searching for "instrumental." You can also try creating stations based on a number of artists or individual songs that exemplify the sound you are looking for (e.g., songs without lyrics).

Another thing to try is creating stations with songs or tracks instead of artists. Using song seeds rather than artist seeds can result in a more focused station by diverging from the mainstream and focusing on a distinct set of musical attributes. You can find some of the sample songs from the Bluegrass Instrumental station here to use in order to create a fresh new station.

I am familiar with going to the Station details to see the seeds the 'Station Created From', however I no longer see the button to 'Add Variety'. When I click on the '...' (ellipsis) that would give me an option to 'Edit Station', that option is greyed out- I can see it, but I can't click it.

Maybe the work around is to start with an artist you like to add variety. I only have one station. Last time I checked a couple of weeks ago I could. Took a lot of scrolling down (should be first thing) but add variety was at the very bottom.

Lemme be clear, I am not using a pre-existing Pandora station. Unless one of Pandora's stations is related to the Big Tymers producer Mannie Fresh. This is a user created station. I seeded this station based on the artist Mannie Fresh. I do not see the "Add Variety" option.

As a very longtime subscriber, I'm completely confused by your changes, plans and exclusions. Seems like even though I pay good money to listen, I can't change or add much. I simply want to add songs to my stations as I think of them. Is that the current state of affairs?

Hi @smk thanks for posting to community! I've moved your post to this thread because it sounds like you're trying to add variety to your station. Sorry for any confusion over this. Please see below for instructions on how to add variety to your stations.

Additionally, I do see that you're upgraded to Pandor Plus - if you'd like more information about the benefits included in your subscription, I'd recommend visiting our help page here for more information.

Please bring back song and artist requests. I have made a music station of songs that I prefer but am not able to request various songs and artists anymore. I would like to expand my station and don't like waiting for the station to guess the songs and music I'd like to add.

In the meantime, if you're on a mobile device, you should be able to use the following steps to add variety to your station(s). Keep in mind, you won't be able to add variety to a genre station as these work a little differently that your other station.

The + add variety button is not there. I have been searching for 45 minutes. I am following pandora's instructions from the "Station created from" section but there is no + variety button unless I am completely blind. Please help.

After wading through several community threads all essentially restating this same common problem (inability to add variety, no + sign present), it should be apparent now that this is in fact, a problem with the platform and not individual users. I have been a Pandora subscriber for nearly 5 years and have a couple dozen stations that i've created by "seeding" them via the "add variety" + sign. This option is no longer available on my desktop (Mac), mobile (iPhone), nor my TV option (Roku)

I am having the exact same issue. I have been a Pandora user for years, and a paid premium member since it's been offered. I am very familiar with the platform and the add variety option has been missing for months. After reading through friends I have tried everything suggested and it is just not there. I have tired on my pc (mac) and my phone (galaxy s10)
