Assalam-o-Alaikum,
Dear All,
Time and again it has been requested to make donations for the Alumni's Scholarship fund. Here once again donations are being called for the same cause.
It's not about huge sums rather it is about how frequent the donations are made. We were a class of at least 50.
If we make a donation as low as Rs. 500/- each per month it'll be good enough for at least two hostelites. The same has been explained below.
The best way is to use Internet banking to transfer the fund on monthly basis. It's only a one time hassle and then the fund would be transfered automatically every month on required date.
You are all requested to take time out and to do the needful.
Following are some of the questions regarding the funds:
Question: Is giving to EME Alumni's Scholarship fund an act of charity?
Answer: Yes. Anything spent to please Allah is an act of charity. The money donated shall be spent on education of students and will help them acquire skills to earn a living for themselves and their family.
Question: Does EME Alumni Association use the donation amount for their administrative affairs?
Answer: No.
We do understand that all charitable organizations have to take some share of donation to run and manage the charity work, however, EME Alumni Association's dedicated team does all the hard work on volunteer basis. Therefore, we will do our best to get every single penny of your donation to education of students.
Question: Why should i give anything to EME when i did not get a decent treatment by EME College administration.
Answer: We are not asking you to donate anything to the college. All we are asking is to help the students who are in danger of discontinuing their education due to financial problems. We are asking for you to step up and be there for them!
Donating to support these students does not help anyone except our own selves.
How does it work?
A few volunteers from Class of 2009 (DE 27) have stepped up to establish a scholarship award in the name of entire DE 27 to support the students at EME College. This award is an expansion of the earlier project by DE 27 EE and we are glad that all other departments have joined hands to make it even bigger. This Class of 2009 Scholarship will be overseen by a board, comprising of volunteers from entire 27 as well as class representatives who will coordinate each department. All donations will be pooled up and handed over to EME Alumni Association on behalf of Class of 2009.
EME Alumni Association is finalizing its current award for Fall 2012 and needs to support 22 students. We are hoping that DE 27 can support 2 of these students. We can do this together, it's easy. Lets do the maths.
Target number of donors = 200
NUST Tuition Fee = 10,000 per month = 60,000 for a semester
Tuition Fee for 2 students = 120,000
Per head contribution = 120,000 / 200 = 600 over six months.
Per head contribution each month = Rs 100.
One meal at McDonald can beat the entire six months donation. Can we forgo one such meal? Or a couple of cans of coke each month?
This is the calculation for minimum amount for the said number of targeted donors. You can donate one time or monthly it totally depends on your ease.
Its time to act. Please get in touch with any of the following people for donations:
