SP7a Uninstall Woes

When I applied SP7a to all of my servers I selected the backup option
and have verified that the sys:\system\backsp7\uninstall\nls\4 directory
and the file backout7.ips exist. Now when I try to uninstall SP7a I get
the ..."can not find an *.ips or install.ips file..." message.

I have a testbed where I also tried this(first) and I get the same
error.
Is there a manual way to overcome this? SP7a has all but cripled my
ARCserve 6.1 backup server just days before I may need its once reliable
services. I would like to go back to SP6a which have have on NSC.
