I am getting the following error on a new server that was setup today.

IPX RTR-6.60-2 (SAP sometimes RIP others) ROUTER configuration error
detected
Node 00D00601FB60 claims network address C14EF0E0 should be 00D05A5D

I don't have any idea what 00D00601FB60 mack address is for. But I do know
that C14EF0E0 is the NW address of the 802.2 protocol on the new server and
the 00D05A5D is the 802.2 protocol address of the old servers. Only the new
server is hooked up now and the names of the old and new server are the same
VHS1.

Now we hooked up the old server and disconnected the NIC cable to the new
server to see what if any errors it was getting the following error

IPX RTR-6.60-2 (RIP error not both rip and sap) ROUTER configuration error
detected
Node 080009A4AE9D () claims network address 00005A5E should be 5705D6AC.

The 080009A4AE9D is the address of an HP Jet Direct card on the network.
00005A5E is the NW address of the 802.3 protocol on the old server and the
5705D6AC is the 802.3 protocol address of the new server.

I sometimes get an error 40 MIO error no the HP Printer that is associated
with the address above.

I really don't care about the problem on the old server just the SAP and RIP
error on the new server. We have reset router at the console and after that
show 13 servers when we do a display server command. The every one minute
beep is quite annoying.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do with this error message and what if
any problem I could get and our the problems with the MIO error on the Jet
Direct associated with this?

IPX RTR-6.60-2 (SAP sometimes RIP others) ROUTER configuration error
detected
Node 00D00601FB60 claims network address C14EF0E0 should be 00D05A5D

Thanks

It's the MAC of one of your two servers.

Network numbers for servers connecting to the same LAN segment with
the same frame type *must* match. Go change the NET= statement on the
new server's bind command to match the old network number (00D05A5D).

You're asking for trouble. Never give servers the same name, even if
one's going away.

Your JD card is terribly confused, and needs to be turned off and back
on. Once they get their hands on a network number, they won't let go
even if it's wrong. Shut it off, fix the other problems, then turn
the JD card back on.
