Have we seen the death of mbone?

I can't see any news groups with sufficient traffic on subjects such as
mbone and multicasting. Any help at all ?

No, you're seeing the death of this newsgroup, it will be removed soon
(see my message <37186F27...@cryogen.com> just a few days ago).

There are several mbone-related mailing lists IIRC, this newsgroup was a
mail<->news gateway for such a list until the gateway was closed a few
months ago.

can I get access to the mailing list on iirc is there a web link.

Try a search on <http://www.liszt.com/>, <http://www.altavista.com/>,
<http://www.dejanews.com/>, etc. for "mbone" and "mailing list", I'm sure
you'll find several.
