Just one more question, How do I get in to the setup mode into the
modem, I'm using a RS232 DB-9 to DTE (laptop) and a DB25 to the modem
,I'm missing something else ?? Do I need special software?
Thanks
Daniel G.

I don't have a T1600 manual available, but I checked the T3000 and
WorldBlazer manuals and they both use ~U to change the system
password.

If that doesn't work try issuing the ~H (help) command and see if you
can find the command.

Assuming the modem is NOT online, you would use communication software such
has Windows Terminal or HyperTerm to talk to the modem.

Set the communication software to 9600, N81 for starters. If you get
garbage back when typing "AT" to the modem, try 19200, then 38400, then
57600, then 115200 until you see a response. (BTW, Windows Terminal is
limited to 19200.)

Good Luck!

Jim.

You run a terminal emulator problem (e.g. the hyperterminal in Win95) and
issue an AT command. The modem should come back with OK or 0, and you can
then issue other AT commands.
