Memory problems

I have NB STi with 2Mb RAM and 4 MTA connected to 2 Asyn cards.
On heavy usage time "debug status go" shows me 53% memory free but ~160%
(!) on the mbuf
which is memory buffer I guess. At this point the STi keep saying in
"syslog session on 7" : memory getting low, adjusting queue limits, can't
start consule on lineXXX and so on:

1. Should I add more SIMM's ?
2. I have one SIMM attached, can I add or change it to regular 72pin 60ns
SIMM, should they come in couples like in Pentium board ?
