Like many, I'm getting waaay too much spam in my inbox. I spent a
little time, and I've tracked a significant amount of it from this
mailing list, because the subscription list is NOT PRIVATE!

Can someone at Telebit please consider having the list manager make
this mailing list subscription list private? Right now, if I send the
command "who netblazer-users" to majo...@telebit.com, I get the
valid email address of EVERYONE ON THIS LIST!

Unfortunately, this is a spammers dream-come-true, and I think it is
being abused. I can't see any valid reason why the subcription list
to netblazer-users should be public.

I'm not a Majordomo expert, but I think there is a configuration
command, "private_who = yes", that will prevent the subscription list
from being received. Also, it would be VERY NICE if people who are
NOT subscribed to this list cannot post to it. Some spam actually
gets posted to the list itself, and then we all suffer.

Drowning in spam,
Doug.

Actually.....its worse than that, if you look at the list carefully...you will see that a number of
the email addresses (and I use the words "email address" very loosly here - you will find some very
familiar addresses for those of us that do monitor spam....it appears that the list is infiltrated in
a major way.....I think that it is about time that only valid netblazer users are on this list and
that could be accomplished via some kind of serial number check.
