appropriate response.
We can get into sense-perception, induction and metaphysics at some
other time, I don't have time now (someone has to pay my tax bill and it
wasn't pretty).

I had expected a more substantive reply. Well, actually, I *didn't*
expect one from you, since your position is indefensible. It should
be clear to everyone that the only way to run a successful, productive
society is to define a set of property rights and stick to them, not
to define something an "essential resource" and remove some of the
owner's property rights.

Everything you say is true. It's what you don't say that is also true:
1) Free markets are the check you are looking for.
2) Governments have killed anywhere from 100 to 200 million people in
this century alone. So far, the checks on private enterprise are
working a LOT better than the checks on government.
