least in the United States.

Asking a question isn't the same as making a threat. In any case, why
don't we simply give a frustrated Darren an answer?

with the following in the body of the message and the subject line:
signoff com-priv <the e-mail name under which you're subscribed>
Note: if you include a "signature" at the bottom of the message, there's
always the remote chance that it will confuse the list processor, so
don't.
I know that the <unsubscribe> is supposed to work the same as <signoff>,
but I can bear personal witness to <unsubscribe> not working.
