My Reduction

My reduction to a soldier began
in obeyance to traffic lights
and got worse,
when I purchased a book
of tickets permitting me to shop.

You'd think I could be chopped
in half, a dead tree trunk
but my organism is a smouldering
fire indivisable,
family barbeque bigger than thou.

I'm a gutter ball
alongside the Christmas splendor
of the state and
soon to drop, a reflection
some of the night's best qualities.

Then we die on the beach
my society and me,
vouchers spent and the dug of wine
spent on the filtrating
of God's great event, our little brains.
