How it works technically is I'm just parsing the ATOM feed provided by
search.twitter.com (formerly Summize). So, the results you see are
identical to using
search.twitter.com, and typing in @[username] -
whatever username you are searching for.
Good suggestion on the URL idea, but I'm not convinced sending the
user a URL would be useful because there are already web pages or apps
that aggregate your Twitter @ replies, for example you could just load
search.twitter.com into your mobile browser, and query for
@[username]. You could then bookmark that URL in your mobile browser.
For example, mine would look like:
http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%40Matthom
I've used this approach for a while now, and having to constantly
refresh that page over EDGE is extremely annoying. For 3G users, maybe
not so much, but I've found SMS is just quicker and more responsive,
even in low signal areas.
Just my thoughts. I'm certainly open to such ideas so thanks for the
suggestion.
