Autumn Colors in Britain
A Cambridge University college covered in Virginia Creeper looks spectacular as it turns into a blaze of red. It completely covers the back of the building at St John's College and has become one of the most famous autumn sights in Cambridge as the leaves change from green to scarlet. Fly agaric mushrooms at Brodsworth Hall and Gardens in South Yorkshire. Fallen leaves float on top of duck weed at Moseley Bog in Birmingham. Moseley Bog is a nature reserve in the Moseley area of Birmingham and is close to the childhood home of the author JRR Tolkien. The ancient woodland surrounding the bog was his inspiration to create the ancient forests in his books, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The view across the lake at the National Trust's property at Stourhead, Wiltshire, as the autumnal colours begin to show on the trees around lake Hoare, created by Henry Hoare II in the 1740s. Deer and autumn colours at Wollaton Hall and Deer Park in Nottingham. A couple enjoy a pedalo amongst the autumn colours in Battersea Park, London.
